To show 3D films, the projector simultaneously projects images from two film reels. It does this via polarised lenses that focus the separate left-eye and right-eye images of the 2 separate strips of film onto the giant IMAX® screen. Audience members wear polarised glasses that have the same alignment in each lens, as does the corresponding 'eye' of the projector.

IMAX® cinemas feature a patented digital audio technology with advanced circuits designed specifically to enhance sound clarity and depth of sound reproduction. Sheridan IMAX® cinema has a 12 000 watt sound system, which is delivered through 40 speakers in 11 clusters.
